Section 294
Judgment of Court
The Court shall deliver its judgment in terms of section 293 in the open Court and the same shall be signed by the presiding officer of the Court.
Why this exists
Requiring the decision to be announced in open court, rather than privately, keeps the negotiated-justice process transparent and publicly accountable, even though the negotiation itself happens behind closed doors.
