Forms
Subject to the power conferred by article 227 of the Constitution, the forms set forth in the Second Schedule, with such variations as the circumstances of each case require, may be used for the respective purposes therein mentioned, and if used shall be sufficient.
Why this exists
Criminal procedure involves a lot of standard paperwork — summons, warrants, charges, and orders. This section makes sure that pre-approved standard formats exist so that police, court staff, and Magistrates across the country use consistent, legally sufficient documents rather than inventing their own each time, reducing errors and disputes over technical defects in form.
