Section 465
Who may issue warrant
Every warrant for the execution of a sentence may be issued either by the Judge or Magistrate who passed the sentence, or by his successor-in-office.
Why this exists
Judges and magistrates get transferred or replaced over time. This section ensures a sentence can still be enforced through a properly issued warrant even if the original judge who passed it is no longer in that post.
